Alex is already 15 months old. As if the Robinson household isn't loud enough, Alex is piping up with his opinions often! His vocabulary is rapidly expanding to include bottle, no, quack quack, car, truck, no, shoes, cracker, no, agua, two!, nite nite, no, love you, and the debut of his first sentence, "here you go". Following in his father's footsteps, he spends a large part of each mealtime holding up his cup and yelling "cheers" until someone toasts him. Alex enjoys performing various feats of strength such as twirling Mike's crutches above his head, deadlifting the stool in the kitchen and wrestling his brother for the wiffle ball bat.
Quinn now wants to be in charge of all things related to him and insists on picking out his own clothes, books, meals, etc. In addition, he has decided that he doesn't want to wear pants much anymore. He is also vying for computer-time already. Quinn is in the midst of the terrible twos and has ratcheted up the drama. The once-a-day nap or "quiet time" is now out the window. He's turned our kitchen into an all-you-can eat buffet, grazing on any food he can find all day long. Five minutes after he finishes lunch, he's back asking for a snack, then juice, then some crackers, etc.
Elena is a wonderful help to Mike and Allyson in terms of cleaning up, setting the table, etc. She's already excited about going to kindergarten and riding the bus and can't wait to turn 5 in February. We have a running countdown of days until her birthday. She's doing much better playing with her brothers - she loves teaching Quinn how to use the computer and is reading the boys books. Given enough time and a level one book, she can read the whole thing with minimal help. She does have a fantastic memory so you have to watch that she's not reciting back what she remembers.
