ABOUT THE KIDS FEB08

Quinn had a big fall recently. He and Alex were having a "dance party" in our room, and Quinn, (also known as the whirling dervish) got dizzy and fell into our bed. He cut himself right on the outer edge of his right eye. Instead of stitches, they glued it back together, which was much less traumatic ;-) He does have quite a bruise - it changes color every day, but he seems okay. He calls it his ketchup. About a week later, he slid on the steps and bit a nice chunk of his lip so he looks like he's chewing tobacco all the time. The fight for control of the computer began a couple weeks ago when Quinn was no longer willing to wait to use the computer. We brought up our old computer and set it up to minimize the power struggle. He's navigating several web sites and getting the hang of using the mouse.

Alex continues to GROW! At 18 months, he is only 6 pounds lighter than Elena, who is 5. He's just about as tall as Quinn now too, and has a larger shoe size than his brother. He is starting to put words together in rough sentences. He even uses please and thank you on his own (more apple mommy - pleeeaaassseee). And he thinks he is pretty hilarious - every other word is either poo poo or poo poo head. And speaking of heads, this kid falls or hits his head at least a few times a day - ouch! He also loves to dance, favoring any move that involves sticking his butt out.

Elena
recently had her fifth birthday party - 9 little girls from preschool came over for games and to make their own pizzas. It was quite the crazy party! Her reading is getting pretty good, and she's able to pick out words on signs and magazines. Art is still her favorite hobby and after her birthday, she now has more art supplies than Pat Catan's. Elena now sees the benefits of Quinn using the computer--she sets him up on her WebKinz sites and has him play games and get her points. She still maintains that she'd like to be a paleontologist when she grows up.
